History of Famec Tech

amec Tech was started in the year 1971 with 2 workers on board doing Pipe slotting for Agricultural Department. Then we moved to manufacturing Agricultural components before stepping foot on Fabrication and Civil constructions. We have completed works for Various TamilNadu Government departments like TANSI, Civil Supplies Corporation, Agro Industries and TNHHDC.

Acquaintance with Water

In 1980 we had started Pasumai Borewells to address the huge water shortage. In addition to serving the direct consumers we contracted to Military Engineering Services and Southern Railways Department. We have executed borewells starting from TamilNadu to Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan.

Forging Ahead with Metal

After solving the water problem in Railways we were given an opportunity in Railways to undertake Fabrication and erection of Platform Shelters, FootOverBridges and Bridge Girders. We have also completed Civil Construction work allied to Fabrication and Erection. Construction of Storage Sheds for Tanks @ Avadi Construction of the Majestic looking OTA Entrance Arch next to the Airport in St. Thomas Mount

Tryst With Rocks

Innovation has always been the hallmark of Famec Tech, It was during the year 1991 we forayed into Granites. We setup a Granite processing unit in the name of Storage Granites. We exported granite products like Slabs, monuments, building products. During the same time we started another company by name Lakshmi Marketing Combines to sell Steel drill rods used for drilling granite quarries. Most successful business go through a lean patch. For the first time after 2 decades of existence we faced a negative growth in 1992. After struggling for few years we have to give up the 2 activities of Granite and Drill rods dealership in 1996.

Revenge of the Steel

In its quest for challenging business ventures Famec Tech went back to its core business with metals in the year 1998 by executing Fabrication and Erection of Foot over bridge and Platform Shelters in the on every stations starting from Tambaram to Chengalpet.

Soaring with Sands

The year 1999 marked the new era in Famec Tech what we call as soaring with the sands. Southern Railways wanted to adopt the trenchless technology for laying pipes, cables and subways across the tracks using trenchless technology. The coming years witnessed a giant leap both in terms of Nature of projects undertaken and technology used particularly trenchless technology.

Pioneered Trenchless Technology

Starting from 1999 we mastered the techniques of Trenchless technology. We designed our own jacking equipments and encasing pipe and have completed various projects with a maximum length of 54 meters and upto a 3 meter diameter RCC encasing pipe projects using pipe jacking method. Business is always a survival of the fittest. Only those that can sail thru troubled waters emerge triumphant. Famec Tech is one of rare few companies that was able to sail through with high flying colors and regained its position both financially and technologically.
